New instruments in stock! We just finished up our latest production run and we have dulcimers back in stock. We'll be starting the next run in about a week or so in between mowing and getting the garden ready!

Blue Lion turns 35!

June 11, 2012 was Blue Lion's 35th birthday. It's been a great way to spend the last 35 years — making instruments and music — and we're not done yet!

Thanks to all of our friends and customers who've made this anniversary possible. It goes without saying...we couldn't (and wouldn't) have done it without you all!

Our Wood Sources

Articles are appearing in the media concerning the illegal harvesting and use of East Indian Rosewood and othe exotic hardwood species. We buy all of our rosewood through a licensed importer; and as with all of the woods we use at Blue Lion, our rosewood is CITES certified and legally imported.

Ring necked doves (also known as turtle doves) at the bird feeder with the wisteria vine in full bloom.

The last two years we've had an unusually high number of turtle doves (ringneck doves) in the area, and their cooing greets us in the morning on our way down to the shop.
