The chipboard case is made of heavy duty pressed fiberboard covered in black vinyl, with a soft plush lining. It offers fairly good protection against knocks and light precipitation.

The Standard fits all Style I, Style II, Teardrop, Soprano, Force d'Ossché and Jean Ritchie models; the Bass fits the Bass, Baritone and Acoustic Jam model.

* The only U.S. manufacturer of chipboard cases has notified us that they will no longer be manufacturing any chipboard cases.  We will continue to look for another source but are not optimistic; the manufacturer said they do not know of any other companies in the US currently making a chipboard case.  For this reason, the remaining bass, baritione and AJ sized chipboards we have in stock will only be available for purchase with the dulcimer.

SOFTSHELL

We are proud to offer the Blue Heron softshell case, custom-fitted to Blue Lion dulcimers. It is constructed of heavy duty Cordura® nylon outer shell, with a thick closed cell foam lining (semi-rigid), and is lined with ripstop nylon. The carrying handle is wrapped and padded, and each case comes with a shoulder strap. The accessory pocket on the outside is large enough to hold straps, tuners, picks, etc.

FITTED HARDSHELL

PLEASE NOTE:  We are currently only selling the hardshell case with an instrument order due to supply issues.  Once we have a good supply back in stock we will be happy to once again accept orders for cases without instruments.

The Blue Lion hardshell case represents the ultimate in protection for your instrument. This case is handmade of 9 ply birch hardwood, covered with a heavy duty embossed vinyl, bound and piped on the ends for extra durability. The latches are heavy duty brass and come with locks to prevent accidental opening. The interior is lined with foam on all sides and is covered in a dense cotton plush. The custom-fitted pads are soft foam and offer excellent protection and fit for the instrument.

At this time we do not offer an unfitted version of this case.
